Kelvin Chikumbirike
Executive Director
Kelvin Chikumbirike is an extremely dynamic Zimbabwean musician, teacher, performer, and accomplished marimba maker. In 2017 he created the Vaima Arts Trust. This organization teaches music and art to homeless youth, people living with disabilities, prison inmates, and other disadvantaged and disabled populations.
Kelvin has performed mbira music in nearly every hotel in central Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. He and his team have performed at parties, weddings, and major events such as HIFA 2017 and 2018, Spar Rainbow Run, Tamba Rimba Festival and the Miombo Magic Festival. He even participated in setting the Guinness World Record for the largest marimba ensemble.
As well as having extensive experience performing, Kelvin has expanded his musical repertoire by recording with international artists such as Klara Wojtkowska, a Polish violinist, and Lukas Meir, a Swiss drummer. He has been interviewed by his musical collaborator Wojtkowska, by radio stations (Capital FM, Star FM, ZiFM, Heart n Soul) and by online TV show (263 Chat, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation and freiomusic based in USA Colorado .
Kelvin recently finished teaching at the Zimbabwean music Festival in Oregon, where he taught nyunga nyunga mbira. Kelvin has taught ngoma (traditional Zimbabwean drumming), nyunga nyunga mbira, marimba, hosho, African hand drumming, singing and dancing.
One of Kelvin’s most impressive crafts is the mastery of making mobile marimbas. These marimbas are inexpensive,made from recycled material and easily moved, making them more accessible to larger groups of people.
Samson Chikumbirike
Administration Director
Samson Chikumbirike is a seasoned Sales and Marketing Consultant who has been in the ICT industry for 13 years. He is a holder of a Master of Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe; he is also a holder of an Honors Degree in Marketing and Economics from the Great Zimbabwe University. He is a passionate and dedicated person towards assisting the most disadvantaged people of the community.
He co-founded the Vaima Arts with Kelvin Chikumbirike in 2017as a family passion to help the disadvantaged and harness their skills and qualifications to better the next person.
Samson is a Christian who values the sanctity of life and has always wanted to minister to the most disadvantaged; he has been involved in many church leadership positions in different capacities and also been involved with administration of some schools as a member of School Development Communities.
He is a leader par excellence and administration is his major strength as he has been doing administration for over 10 years now in different set ups ranging from family, church, community and even business. The exposure he gained in the private sector as a Senior Sales Consultant for a reputable ICT company gives him a competitive edge in leadership roles. He is so passionate about working with disadvantaged and he has always been supportive of the trust.
Samson is a family man, married with 3 kids and he is a strong advocate for united families and a firm believer of sharing the little that we have to better the next person, he values ubuntu and wishes for a community which understand that disability is not inability, he is a strong advocate for self empowerment drive to the disadvantaged community especially the kids with a disability.
He has been silently involved with Vaima Arts Trust from its initial stages and he continues to be a strong and involved member of the Trust.
Takudzwa Mathabire

Takudzwa Mathabire is a young serial-entrepreneur and pioneer of “art-preneurship” which a school of thought that profuses artistic/creative techniques with business principles.He have identified,groomed and many local artists for the past 4 years and have invested in art business workshops in countries that include Zimbabwe,Madagascar and Mauritius.Takudzwa also enjoys working with the under-priviledged in marginalised societies.

l stay in Highfield Harare . l was born with a disability called PHOCOMELIA .But being a disabled person has never over-weigh my aspiration of becoming a better person in the future , “l can say it with a broadly smile 😃😃”. Proudly ,I am a person who is blessed with heeps of mountainous talents indeed .I play wheelchair basketball ,wheelchair tennis ,wheelchair race marathon ,l do public speaking poetries and dramas .Last but not least l play African hand instruments like Mbira and marimba .
My hopes and ambitions is to be someone in life showcase my talents and change the mentality of the world towards people living with disabilities . To prove that Disability is not Inability
Rachel Madondo
I am physically challanged ,i use a wheelchair to move around and i stay with my brother at Mt pleasent Harare.I have got many talents ,i play wheelchair basketball,wheelchair tennis and also i play mbira and marimba.my wish is that i want to go far with mbira and marimba .I want to show the world that disability does not mean inability .

Having a disability didn’t stop me from becoming a lovely person l am today😜 l have a talent or maybe l’ve many talents but I haven’t noticed them yet😀 but l’ve this one talent am sure of l can sing and l thank God for giving me this gift.
I’m studying IT so I wanna become a System Analyst and to Sing too.Showing the world that disability doesn’t mean inability🔥
I believe that if someone is too tired to give you a smile, leave one of your own, because no one needs a smile as much as those who have none to give.😊
